Transfer and LEI number renewal

Transfer and LEI number renewal

Get a LEI code transfer and renewal here

If you already have a LEI code but wish to move the management to us as your registration agent and to the LOU we work with, and benefit from our low LEI prices and great customer service, you are in the right place. As part of the transfer of the code to us (free of charge), we renew it at the same time for the period you choose.

If you are only interested in transferring the LEI number without renewal, please use our contact form.

Transfer and renew your LEI code at the lowest price

With the help of LEI Service, you can transfer and renew your LEI to the LOU we work with for only $69 (excluding any applicable VAT). If you transfer and renew for a longer period than 1 year, you can also save a considerable amount.
See our pricing page.

You never lose any prepaid period

Even if you have prepaid a GLEIF period (which is always 1 year) of validity for your LEI code with your current provider, you can transfer the LEI code to the LOU we work with now. We ensure that you do not lose any part of the prepaid period*.

We can submit a renewal request 60 days before the LEI code expires at GLEIF, so if your LEI code expires in 90 days, it will remain pending in our system until 60 days before expiry.

* Please note that if you have prepaid for several years with your current provider, you should wait until the last contract year before transferring, unless you have the option to exit the agreement. Otherwise you risk losing the prepaid years.

What is the difference between a LEI code renewal and a transfer and renewal?

If you already have a LEI code today, it will have been issued through a LOU entity, which is the one that practically issues the LEI code itself. In order for you to be able to use our low administration prices, your LEI code needs to be transferred to the LOU that LEI Service works with.

This process is 100% free for you, and no change is made to the LEI number itself – it is a purely administrative exercise that we handle. Unfortunately, we cannot renew your LEI before it has been transferred to the LOU we work with.

Please note that a transfer can take 2–7 days, as your old provider needs to approve the transfer. Unfortunately we have no influence over this and it is the same for all LEI companies.

Always remember to cancel your agreement with your old provider if they might invoice you for a renewal without your consent – unfortunately we do see certain providers do this.

FAQ

It is very easy to move the LEI number to our management. LEI Service offers this service for free. All you must do is to fill out your entity registration number and verify your information. The transfer process will take around 7 business days to complete. A transfer always takes longer to complete, this is the same for all service providers in the LEI system.

LEI Service can help with a LEI code renewal for only $69 for 1 year. If you choose to renew for a longer period, you can get additional savings and save the trouble of making a renewal each year.
